Why I am doing the 100 Day Project
Creating so I can share my art with the world. Or at least with you, here on Substack.
Let me introduce myself a little.
My name is Csermely, (which means creek in Hungarian) and I live in northern Romania, about 30 km from the Ukrainian border. Our village is surrounded by haystacks and mountains, namely the Creasta Cocoșului or Rooster’s Crest.
From our Instagram page, Earth Gratitude Studio.
I began drawing when I was 4 years old, and I never stopped. Since then I have tried many different mediums including watercolor, pencil, and even charcoal. However I enjoy drawing with a simple black marker the best, letting the drawing speak for itself without using colors - just black and white.
The reason I am doing the
is because I want to see just how many different drawings I can make only using a black marker and a small piece of paper in under 10 minutes a day. Testing myself and my own creativity, while having fun, of course!I believe that this project is a wondrous way for anyone to test their own artistic boundaries, while celebrating their own private evolution, maybe to share, or to simply keep for themselves as a chapter of their personal journey in the world of art.
My plan with these small black and white drawings is to then copy them onto wood and lino to create woodblock or lino prints. I cannot wait to start tomorrow on February 23rd!!!
I would like to thank
for this creating this challenge! ❤️ Plus thank you to everyone who is doing this 100 Day Project for themselves - and the world at large, for these days we need more human-made art then ever before. You can find us at Daily Dose of Nature where we write about 2 times a week sharing a photo of the day, a prompt and poem about the earth.
With gratitude,
Csermely
